Engaged!!!

You may or may not have seen me mention a little something about a ring in my Twitter feed a couple of weeks but I'm engaged!

My boyfriend proposed to me on the Friday of the Thanksgiving long weekend in October. We've decided that we would do as much as possible ourselves, from designing the invitations to the table numbers to the centerpieces. We've also decided to enlist the help of friends with creative talents such as my friend Jess who'll make jewelery and any other baubles we may want.

My Dad's best friends have already offered to make our cake for us!

We've set a tentative date in October next year so there will be a lot of work to do from now until then.

Maternity Photos

I was able to sneak in a quick maternity session with Mel & Jay. A couple of the pictures didn't turn out the way I wanted so I'll have to go back to PS and make the appropriate adjustments.

I'm having trouble right now getting my Canon Selphy photo printer to read the appropriate colour profiles. I may have to visit my local photography shop to print some better pictures.

Kids Portraits

This picture, from the wedding I shot in August, has kicked off a keen interest in children's photography.

I don't have a lot of friends with young children. Just a cousin here, and a friend there. Although that's about to change come January when my best friend has her first baby and then again in February when another close friend has her first baby.

The more I photograph kids, the more I like photographing kids. Instead of trying to hide their personalities, stiffly trying to fit into the photograph, they're just themselves and that comes out so well in their photographs.

Keep my fingers crossed that I get to do more photos like the one above in the new year!
